Shroud dates back to 33 BC

Happy Easter everyone,

I would like to share a Link (please see below) with everyone. This Link will show details about new dating technics done on left-over fibers from the Shroud of Turin's carbon dating tests back in 1988.

On Holy Thursday night news about new dating tests done on the Shroud became available. The Church is not acknowledging these test either way as of now. Perhaps after additional confirmation and publication in a scientific journal, the Church may make an official statement.

Nevertheless, the new tests were done at the University of Padua. Two tests were chemical and one mechanical. The average date after all the test came back was 33 BC, plus or minus 250 years for margin of error. With this new data and the additional Historical and Scientific facts that prove the Shroud is 2,000 years old, the whole world may soon know the Shroud's true age.

For details visit the Vatican Insider link below...

Peace be with us all,

As one of his last acts as Pontiff, Pope Benedict XVI has authorized a television only exhibition of the Shroud of Turin on March 30, 2013 (Holy Saturday) directly from the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist where the cloth is permanently stored. Bruno Barberis, President of the International Center for the Study of the Shroud (Centro Internazionale di Sindonologia) in Turin released these details:

On March 30th (Holy Saturday) in the late afternoon (Italian time) in the Turin Cathedral there will be a TV exposition of the Holy Shroud. The exposition will be broadcast by the RAI Uno television network. This event, connected with the "Year of Faith," will happen 40 years after the first and unique TV exposition of the Shroud on November 23rd, 1973. The Shroud will remain in its room in the Cathedral and the length of the exposition will be around one hour. On March 1st in Turin at 11.00am a press conference will be held regarding this special exposition.

It is likely that footage from this exposition will be picked up and shown by other television broadcast networks around the world and on the internet.

Historical Fiction

8/6/2012

Upper Room, The Way: 33AD to 57AD can be classified as Historical Fiction. Everything is based on facts, data, and information from additional ‘not well known’ sources. The facts about the story, which we already know, remain true. In addition, these truths we already know, we now have additional facts supporting their truth.

The novel presents additional possibilities to the story, none of which change the truth we already know. These probabilities are fiction, because we do not have significant facts to prove otherwise. However, we have data to suggest that these probabilities may have occurred somewhat similar to what is presented. If they didn’t, we would not have our current evidence existing today.

In the end, we have a greater understanding of the truth and that is not anything to fear.

New book called THE SIGN is correct and then wrong

5/17/2012

Mr. Wesselow, an art historian, has a book called THE SIGN stating that the Shroud of Turin is real, but the resurrection did not occur. Instead, viewing just the image on the Shroud became the new catalyst for followers to go out and face the penalty of death by declaring Jesus the Son of God.

Mr. Wesselow is correct by stating the Shroud of Turin is 2,000 years old and authentic. Science has proven that. However, he is in error with his assumption that only the image on the Shroud caused Jesus' followers to go out onto the streets of Jerusalem and proclaim a statement that Jesus had risen from the dead. The study of human nature shows people will need a great deal more than an image on a cloth to risk their own death. This reason stands true because there wasn't a single thing to gain for any follower to go out and proclaim Jesus had risen from the dead. A claim like that would only get them thrown in jail or killed and at the same time cause the destruction of the Shroud that held the very image.

With Mr. Wesselow's belief that the Shroud traveled to Damascus and then to the city of Edessa, has serious issues. Also claiming that Saul saw the Shroud's image in Damascus and became a believer because of that viewing, doesn't fit Saul's attributes at the time. Saul would have arrested any follower of Jesus upon sight and destroyed the Shroud before any viewing or cognizant thought. Another error is in the timeline, the Shroud would have already been in Edessa for some time before Saul went to Damascus. Saul became Paul because he saw Jesus as a transformation or spirit, thus matching Paul descriptions exactly. Paul never described seeing Jesus as something on a cloth or shroud. The fact that the Shroud still exists today proves the cloth was never shown in public and thus never placed at risk of being destroyed.

Picture
Next we have the theory on the Shroud being created by decomposition gases and all the scientific facts below:
a) The image on the shroud shows no signs of decomposition on the body. The eye sockets that decay immediately, (they sink and collapse inward) are normal in the image. An image made 3 days after they nailed Jesus to a tree.
b) How do you explain the report about the partial image on the other side of the shroud that is in registration with the face we all have seen on the front?
c) If a second image (partial or complete) is confirmed to be on the backside of the Shroud, Physics explains how gases from decomposition work. Recreating the details of the cloth and a decaying body has been done, the gases that rise will stain an image on the side of the cloth facing the body. However, Physics proves that gases do not rise through a cloth and not leave any additional stains on the inner threads (such as on the Shroud), then come out the other side, stop, and float back down again to stain an image on the opposite side of the cloth! This is impossible. One current claim is that there are two exact images on the Shroud in perfect registration and only on the first microfibers of the first threads on each side!
d) Recreating the cloth, conditions of the tomb, and death of a body, does stain an image. However, the image created lacks many qualities found on the Shroud of Turin and is not a true replication.

Also, how do you explain away reports that Jesus appeared to people a day's journey apart and almost at the same time?

Then there is the question about what happened to the body? Neither the Romans or the High Priest produced any data to explain why Jesus' body was gone.

If you are going to research something, research all the science, not just the art history! Don't write a book about Jesus just to make money and attention, I didn't... I don't keep any royalties received from my novel and I have stated previously that this is not about me... you don't need to know me, you need to know Jesus.
Peace be with you.

Skeptics wrong about Pool of Bethesda

5/11/2012

In John's gospel of the new testament, he talks about a pool called Bethsaida. This pool was surrounded by five covered colonnades and Jesus healed an invalid of thirty-eight years at this location. You can read more about this in John's gospel Chapter 5, Lines 1 to 15.

However, this pool located near Sheep Gate that stood in the city of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus and north of the Temple Mount had never been found by archaeologists. Thus, skeptics claimed this non-existing pool in Jerusalem as proof that the apostle John didn't even write or dictate his own gospel. Belief grew that some zealot years later made up the story and wrote this as part of John's gospel. Since no pool existed, many claimed all gospels as fiction.

Today, the pool is known as Bethesda and has been confirmed by archaeologists that the Pool of Bethesda is not only real, but fits John's description exactly.

Interview with Author L. J. Williams

4/24/2012

As the publisher, we asked three questions to start this blog on the novel Upper Room, The Way: 33AD to 57AD:

Publisher:
Did you always know that you wanted to write the trilogy, Upper Room?
L J:
No, several decades ago I had several novels and books in mind to write. However, Upper Room did not list among them.

Publisher:
When did you finally know, you would write Upper Room, The Way?
L J:
I am not completely positive. All I remember is that I just started writing on the first day of July 2010 and I knew. Why, how, or what caused me to start, I didn’t know at the time. I had years and years of data in front of me on the Shroud of Turin and at that moment, I knew the proof existed to confirm what I felt so many decades before when I first saw a photograph of the Shroud. At the time I first saw the Shroud image, which just showed the face, the Shroud had yet to make a headline or any news. No tests or studies where done and I had no prior knowledge of what I was looking at, but I knew. Thus, my decades of following all the research and studies done on the Shroud of Turin.

Publisher:
You stated that when you started writing Upper Room, you did not know the reason to cause you to write. Do you know now?
L J:
Yes, readers will learn more about that in the final book of the trilogy. Nevertheless, this is not about me. This is about what happened two thousand years ago for all of us today.

Despite this book being a Historical Novel, the main characters are not fictional. Their names are not made up and the presented events are of the highest probability derived from statistics, witnesses, documentation, archeological finds, scientific proof, and the studies of human behavior. These are probabilities not widely discussed and may explain about some who were misjudged, misunderstood, or completely ignored. How those who were evil, became good and those who were weak, became strong. Nevertheless, the truth is unchanged. For if there is a God, did He leave tangible proof for those of us who say faith is not enough?
